Creating the Cyanotype Solution

A short introductory video into mixing a cyanotype solution. The solution is made of two chemicals Potassium Ferricyanide C6N6FeK3 & Ammonium Ferric Citrate C6H5+4yFexNyO7 mixed in a 4:6 ratio. When measuring I tend to use grams for a little more ease. Each part is dissolved into 250ml of tap water and then mixed together to form 500ml of solution. It is important to let the solution rest post mixing. I recommend leaving it for an hour, the average shelf life of the solution is 2 weeks. 

Developing the Image

Once you have exposed the image, you need to develop it. I use 50% White Vinegar 50% water. This help bring out the contrast in the images, you must develop in this solution for 15mins, and then leave the piece to dry for 1 hour in a warm non-humid environment,
